Hilma af Klint (1862–1944) was a Swedish artist and mystic, recognized as a pioneer of abstract art. Decades before Kandinsky and Mondrian, she created spiritually inspired, non-representational paintings influenced by Theosophy and her séances. Her visionary works remained largely unknown until the late 20th century, gaining widespread recognition for their innovative and transcendent qualities.
